Prague College is an official learning provider in the Czech Republic for the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), a prestigious association recognised for producing superior financial management specialists.  

The competition has been designed to bring out the best in young business leaders of tomorrow and provides a unique opportunity for university students to showcase their talent in finance & business management.

Management and associate professional jobs have increased by more than 8.5 million jobs in the last 10 years with employers recruiting candidates with formal qualifications and particularly those who's competencies can add value to an organisation and can adapt quickly to unforeseen changes. 

With this in mind, both CIMA and Prague College encourage practical skills based learning with transversal core skills such as the ability to analyse and organise complex information, take responsibility, manage risks and take decisive actions. CIMA's competition's primary aim is for students to deeply understand the sought-after skills of finance professionals required by businesses in CEE.

Prague College has formed 3 teams and will be mentored by CIMA's Academic Mentor and Prague College Master's graduate Elvira Akimova, who will guide, support and offer advice to students as they research, and prepare their presentations over the coming months before presenting on September 15. The strongest team will then go on to represent Prague College.

The case study simulates a Finance Managers role at a fictitious Music Recording company Trevel Group. The teams will have to evaluate opportunities to add value, implement senior management decisions, measure performance, manage performance and costs to aid value creation and manage internal and external stakeholders.

In round two to be held in early October, the universities will compete with their case study presentations and produce a video that they will share to LinkedIn plus undertake a Q&A with the judges. The three strongest teams will more forward and compete for the final title to be held in Warsaw, Poland on October 30 for the title of CIMA Emerging Leaders Champions!

The final round will be held in Warsaw, Poland on October 30 where the three teams will compete for the crown and title of CIMA Emerging Leaders Champions. We wish our students all the very best!
