There are three basic keywords in today鈥檚 IT world: Cloud, Big Data and IoT (Internet of Things). They may look very far away from the graphical digital content industry, but it is this side of computing that accelerates many new opportunities in the 3D-visualization and real-time interactive application fields.

Heads On! is Prague College's new event series specially focused on the IT and computing industries. Expert speakers are invited to address the most current trends in computing, gaming, image manipulation or IT security and are asked to cover areas highly relevant for PC students. Each event provides a unique opportunity for students to meet industry experts in various, mostly technological fields, and to participate actively in discussion.  Speakers are also invited to mention possible careers or internship possibilities in their companies and to answer job-related questions.

Our first visiting lecturer in the new series is Jan Buri谩nek, an ICT consultant and project specialist who specializes in image processing. He will talk about hyper-resolution applications in various industries, especially in the field of real-time 3D visualizations for interactive environments and immersive spaces. The presentation will also cover technical aspects of hyper-resolution visualization today (4K, 8K, 鈥) 鈥 in terms both of hardware and software. Successful local installations of hyper-resolution displays and domes will be presented and discussed; and we will identify opportunities for student work and industry cooperation in this very new field of visualization and the DCC industry.

Mr Buri谩nek is a member of IEEE and ACM, and he is active in the Prague ACM SIGGRAPH computer graphics group. He teaches as an external lecturer in the Department of Computer Graphics and Interaction (DCGI) at the Czech Technical 麻豆社区, and has been invited to many international conferences. He is the author of a number of scientific publications, and has written over 200 articles for specialist magazines, including Pixel, Chip, and Computer World.

His professional interests are focused on advanced image and video processing, stereoscopy, computer graphics and computer vision. He is an expert in motion capture techniques (MOCAP) and image 3D reconstruction and compression. Jan Burianek currently works as a 3D specialist for the Czech company AV MEDIA. He has implemented many significant 3D VR immersive computer systems andis considered among the top stereographers in the Czech Republic, with 3D projects such as 鈥淗urvinek 3D鈥, 鈥淛esus Christ Superstar 3D鈥, 鈥淎 Duvet 3D鈥, 鈥淕oat Story 2鈥, 鈥淐armen 3D鈥 and more.鈥
